auntity based discounts

hi

can someone let me know why i can't create a quantity based discount? i've tried following the help document and other sources but every time i try to create a quantity based discount within

discounts and surcharge settinsg / cart contents

actinic continually prompts me to 'please enter a number'

i've entered 3 for the trigger and 100.00 for the reward amount (where reward type is %off) but it won't let me carry on.

am i missing something fundamental? it's driving me mad

PS - i've read the problem before so you are not alone, can't recall what the fix was, may be worth a search of the forum to find the previous discussions if noone jumps in.
