importing products via a csv file

I have been using actinic v8 now for some time and update each product one by one.....BUT my suppliers have given me their products now as a csv file and I want to try and add them but am unsure of how to do it without effecting what is existing...

I have the file saved as a csv file on my pc at the moment...any guidance would be appreciated?

Have a good read of the inbuilt help is probably the first step. It will also direct you to some example spreadsheets in the site1 folder which are very helpful. Read up on 'external linking' and 'hierarchical imports' to see what suits you best.

Have a read of the snapshot tutorial on my site too, you can't break anything long term then and ideally a snapshot is the very first thing you should learn how to do.
