And you might want to search for PCI.

two things, one is i dont think it has uploaded all the class files to your server and two is "do not use this method of payment" if nothing else set yourself up a paypal account - its free and works as jules said search for PCI-DSS

I am no designer but that theme is the worst for seo and would seriously not use it, although i do for a site it is far from the standard theme and certainly does not use the menu system.

I have to ask what this additional insurance charge is? if i brought something and it got lost or damaged on its way to me that is still your fault and would expect a replacement, all that does is offend people IMHO

This might be a JRE update that has been pushed from Sun.
Try going into your Add or Remove Programs on your PC and uninstalling the latest Java 6 update.

This may fix your PC but not the real problem. You must should stop using the java plugin to collect cc details as this is no longer PCI-DSS compliant.

              Switching to PSP

              Hi there,

Thank you for your response! I have read the thread, and from what I can gather there it is a problem with Java, and not with my site per se? Is my understanding correct, that there is no 'fix' for this specific issue, other than to switch to a PSP solution, such as Actinic Payments?

In the same circumstances as the chap on the thread you sent me to, I prefer to sometimes take payments later. I understand I can still do this with PSP, is this the case with Actinic Payments?

What do you recommend my next step should be?

              Many thanks!

I suggest you contact Actinic and discuss Actinic Payments with them.

Thanks for your response! Please can you recommend a 'theme' to replace the one I am using now, that is better for SEO? Also, is it recommended to upgrade to v9? What are the benefits of upgrading?

                  Thanks in anticipation,
                  Damo

That's exactly what I was thinking! Is Actinic Payments the best solution, and how does it compare to other PSP's? Has anyone got experience of various PSP's, and how competitive the rates are?

I am currently looking at www.electronic-payments.co.uk

                    Thank you.

You will need a PSP which is already integrated with Actinic.

Go into your payments tab and click the + against payment options and you will then see all those already integrated.

                        the most popular psps are

                        actinic payments
                        sagepay
                        worldpay
                        secpay
                        paypal
                        hsbc
                        securetrading

rates will depend on turnover etc so you will need to visit the website for each provider to get a feel for cost and the application procedure

if you search the forum you will find people are very happy with AP. sagepay is probably the 2nd most popular but in recent times has proved problematical.

personally i've used worldpay for years without issues.
paypal website payments is a very easy extra psp (not paypalpro) which you can integrate in minutes.

Thank you very much to everyone who has contributed to this thread. Your advice and information has been invaluable to me today! I fully expected I may have to spend the entire weekend sorting my website out, and in the event this has been avoided (for now!).

As a result of the posts in this thread we have managed to restore all functions of the checkout and re-instate the prices that vanished. Additionally, today we have been talking with Actinic, Streamline and our Bank, and we are confident that we will have implemented Actinic Payments within the next 14 days. Here ends a happy story!!

Again many thanks to all of you who contributed to this thread. If any of you are at the Users Conference on Wednesday next week, please come and say 'Hi'.

                          Best wishes

Just a bit of feedback on this one! I uninstalled all Java 6 updates, as per the instructions above, then refreshed the website. This resulted in full functionality being restored.

                            Many thanks!

You've only fixed the problem on your own PC. Anyone with the Java updates installed on their PC will still have the problem.
