    Vat change back to 17.5%

Has a method of changing back to the 17.5% Vat rate been validated by Actinic. As our historical database now contains pre Dec 08 17.5% transactions, post Dec 08 15% transactions and will now have post Jan 10 17.5% trasactions, the solution must work with all of these.

The last solution put in place to solve the problem in Dec08 meant that we could no longer use the new tax inclusive pricing feature (Which had been log awaited) has any fix been made to this issue?

    Cheers,

    Mark.

    Hi Again,

Juist wondered if any work had been done on this yet? Has anyone got a plan for how we handle the VAT change this year that wont affect our historical data as detailed in my last post?

    Cheers,

    Mark.

          Hello Mark,

Switch your site to "Tax Inclusive Pricing" will not affect your orders.

I can also confirm a KB article is now avalibule regrading "how to convert site from 15% to 17.5%" (The instructions will depend on what rate the Chancellor chooses to set on 1st January 2010)

              Vat

Don't forget guys, 17.5% might not be the end of it, knowing good old Mr Brown he might wind us all up again with a 19% or something later in 2010.
Let's all keep doing extra work for nothing.

Well I hope it is simpler than it looks...........I have no idea how to do "SQL"

I purchased Actinic becuase it is user fiendly - quote "Flexible and easy to use" and have zero knowledge of SQL or Access - The KB article simply says perform an SQL? Hmmm

Why cant we simply select the VAT rate?

Thanks Duncan, fills me with fear TAX & VAT, I will take a look and try to work it out.

A question: Why cant we simply enter the figure 17.5% in the box that currently shows 15% as when I created the website?

I rang up and asked about the 20% rumours on Monday. I was told that there was presently no information on an increase of VAT to 20% and if it was to happen, plenty of notice would be given.

So, that's rather vague then and I wonder what constitutes 'plenty of notice' for the government.
