CSV import field question 'duplicates'

Hi Guys,

Im trying to import duplicates using the instrictions as listed here

Ive follwed these instructions and after the import i get a message saying

'the import you selected contains duplicates that arent matching any product. The cause for this can be the original product isnt in the import file. All these orphan product duplicates have been deleted.'

I have checked my CSV file and without a doubt the original files are present.

Any sugestions on what im missing?

Are the duplicates perhaps above the main products in the import file?

i listed the duplicate info below the original info. I took the original file, copied the information and pasted it as requied below the original information.

Would you sugest trying it the other way round?

No I think you did it correctly that way around.

I haven't tried to do this with a flat file but you can certainly do it with an hierarchical file.

ive mapped the 'original product ref' and the 'product type'
is there somthing i should be mapping for the 'product duplicate index' ?

that wasnt mentioned in the instructions though.

You will certainly have to map all fields.

do you know what character i will need to use to map it?
is there somthing specific ill need to use?

Product Duplicate Index is zero for the original product, 1 for the first duplicate, 2 for the second and so on.
