    SSL and subdomains

    Hi,

Last year I uploaded my ecommerce site www.zummo.co.uk (built with Actinic v8 LE) and ordered an SSL certificate to use on the payment pages.

However, my ISP wouldn't allow me to order an SSL certificate for the domain name zummo.co.uk and instead told me that it could only be ordered on a subdomain instead. I therefore ordered an SSL certificate for nesfield.zummo.co.uk and figured that it would be a simple matter of having all the payment pages work under this subdomain instead but for the life of me I can't work out how to do it.

Please can someone advise me what I need to do. I know it's probably really simple and straightfoward but I'm at a loss at the moment.

    Thanks,

    Marcus

The only thing I can think of is to set up actinic so your cgi-bin is in the subdomain. That way all the scripts and cart, checkout pages, etc should also be accessable on https.

I'm not sure if you'll hit cookie problems with this or not.

      Several choices

1 dont use ssl as you need a psp anyway - site can still be at top level

2 change host so you can secure the top level

2 put entire site in subdomain as i think jumping to/from domain/sub will empty the basket
