Cannot download orders

I have recently changed server and whilst I succesfully downloaded orders once can no longer download or upload.
Actinic just shows the egg timer.
I can however do other tasks while this egg timer is showing.
When I check the network settings it works fine.
We also have a different site on the same server which works fine.

I have searched forum but could find no specific solution for this problem.

When did you change server? has the dns change propagated?

Thanks for the help we changed a few days ago.


I am pointing the dns settings to the new ip address 77.68.41.192 and have still the same namehost 123reg.



the http://www.freeyourmobile.biz & http://freeyourmobile.biz work if typed in.

It is on a dedicated server with a unique ip address for this site.

We are also now getting the issue that the character set is incorrect ie £ appear as a triange which I think implies that it is on the new server "I think"
But thats another issue.

Ok. It's a little odd.

When you say you 'check the networks settings' do you mean run a network test? If this runs without any errors then the site should be OK.

I wonder if there might be a memory setting or timeout that's affecting the upload. Have you installed the various bits of stuff that Actinic needs / can use on the server?

The other site works on the server fine although it is a mates on older v7 actinic.
I have v8 are the perl aplications easy to install on a server running on Linux Centos 5.

I don't think so. I believe only some of them are requirements for the compressed upload. Others in there are a standard requirement / general performance improvements.

If the network test work OK then it sounds like it could well be a server setup problem (particularly as this is dedicated server and you also have a character problem that needs addressing). The potential problems that come to my mind include perl modules, ftp session numbers and timeout settings (appear to be in the problem area), and memory settings.

If it is a server problem then you're going to need specialist help rather than general actinic users. There are some hosts around, such as Jo, that can help on the forum but you might be better off considering a specialist web host that can help you setup your server if you don't have the skills yourself.

PS. The other site working fine is an indicator that it's not the server so I wonder if the installtion went wrong while the dns was changing.

In which case ftp into your site. Download any order files and payment files (.ord and .occ) into a safe area. Delete everything from the server directories, set the file permissions and do a full site refresh. Then check everything is OK and upload the order and payment files again.

yep sorry i was misleading,

Archive:zip is for v9 - i was reading potential timeout on uploads thus compressed upload

ActEncrypt1024 is for performance and is only available from actinic

the rest are common library modules

For the v8 failing upload, try changing the script id

changed the script id and hey presto it now works.
