Section Details

Hi actinic users. I am getting to grips with actinic, but have yet to create a site from scratch. I have been working from snapshots and making modifications. The problem that I have is the Section Detail Pages.

I have looked through the help guide, through the forums everywhere, yet cannot find anything to help.

When you are within the catalogue tree of the site and you have the section pages (usually what display links to the product sections) how do you change the content of the page.

Eg:
I am working on a book site, and the section detail page has 6 images that link to different areas, but I do not know how you edit what is on the page, I have looked everywhere, and just cannot find an answer.

So, how do you edit what is shown in the preview of a section detail page?

The preview will show you the page you have hilighted in the content tree. To edit that content you will need to edit it's children (fragment, sections or products), does that make sense or have I merely muddied the waters?

Unless, the Section layout being used has the images and links you refer to. In that case you will need to swap to design tab and have a look at the code.

TBH without a URL and/or screen shots I'm working blind.

Muddled me mate... I am still on the learning curve.

The problem I see with the section detail page is that within the section page details you have general, page settings etc.. and here is where I would have thought would have been either the content or code, but nothing is there, so I dont understand how I edit it.

There are no fragments at all here.

Just totally puzzled as to how you sort them out.

Attach some screen shots of the content tree and of the preview and I'll try and decipher it for you.

If there are no subsections, fragments or products under the section in the content tree, then that leads me to beleive that the actuall section layout is coded to show those links.

If that is the case you need to look at the page in Design view.
