Inserting a table with product images

    Hi again
Is it possible to add a table with various images to make up a page?
I need to make something like this:
    http://i36.tinypic.com/209m447.jpg
I have added the dimensions on the first picture. The first three rows should conntain an image with the item description, the following three rows should have the item picture, then the same agaain, also with the 'spaces between each image.
I have looked through the guide and done a search on the threads, byut really unsure as to how this can be done?
Any pointers or help would be grastefully appreciated!

      Hi again Louise
It's going to be a sections page for products, which will then just link to the corresponding sections I have built. How would I do this with the sections column count?
      Sorry for all these questions!

Still struggling with this I have just spent an hour looking at these options , but i'm totally lost
It needs to be a table that is 6 rows by three columns where I can place some graphics in. They do not need to be connected to my sections as long as I can include a link to the relevant sections.
          Help?
          like this:
          http://i35.tinypic.com/2enaglt.jpg
and it will end up looking like this:

If you use the Sections as Louise has suggested you will be saving yourself time in the long run. Any changes or additions that you make will be replicated in the "table" you're trying to create.

            For example:

            http://www.denbigharmysurplus.co.uk/

            http://www.vpiaonline.co.uk/

Both of these pages are automatically changed when the client changes an image/name or adds/deletes a section

They're both created in fragments, so that the client can move them around or get rid of them completely if necessary.

That sounds like it would be less hassle than creating a table, but unfortunately, I'm still lost as to how I generate tis layout. Is there anywhere specifically in the guides that will show me how to do this?
I know you are being helpful but it is gobbledygook to me, as i've never used these features before.
Also, the 240x70 graphic is not a product but will be a graphic with the product title. How on earth do I place this in? I'm sorry, i'm just totally bewildered by all of this now *bangs head off laptop*

Just read Louises post, thanks that makes a bit more sense Unfortunately, I need to have the image included rather than text, so it's going to be fun learning how to do these variables

                  Steve,

What you are trying to achieve involves layout and variable creation and/or editing.

We could spend a lot of time trying to guide you through and it still not working out because of something that is lost in translation. It may be quicker (and cheaper in the long run) to get a designer to do it for you.

Images are great for the human visitor, but it means sod all to Search Engines, have both, or make sure you include an alt tag with you images:

                    Code:
                    <img src="SectionImageFileName" alt="SectionName">

                    Army Gore-tex

                      Hi,
as it's a friend i'm helping do the site for, we cant sfford a designer.
I don't think anything would be lost in translation, but I just really need someone to help me with what I exactly need to be doing.
E.G. I want to display my items in a series of rows as shownon a fragment.
If someone could just simply show me where I go to do this? Or point me to a tutorial somewhere that would be great, if I learn how to do it once, then I will be able to do it again
I'm not scared of variables or coding as I used to be a programmer (just not a web one)
                      Thanks,
                      Steve

You can create new variables with type Filename. That's only going to start to make sense though if you understand the basics of Actinic so best to settle in with a drink and read through various Help topics on the subjects of: section, fragment, variable, column count, layout, edit, etc.

                            Variables can be created in:

                            Design | Library | Variables | Product

Copy the DefaultProductImage variable and rename it. Change the "Place of Setting" to Product, then go into any product and the variable should be there, ready to you to navigate to an image.

When you want to insert the variable into your layout, just start typing it's name and it should pop up.

I concur, remember to back up before attempting anything
