    Showing RRP & Discounted Prices

    Hi,

We want to be able to show RRP prices along with the shoppers discounted price (like how it's shown when users log in, discounting different sections with different discounts) I have done this by creating a RRP variable but if prices go up or down this means I have to go into each product and set the RRP price and the Discounted price!

    Dose that make sence??

Thanks, however I have already done that and it works to a point. but If all prices go up (as they will in Jan) I would have to go through each product and change the RRP price & I don't fancy doing that!!

Unless these prices are subject to a set % change or uniform change, how can you expect anything but a human to be able to change the prices. Each price is how long is a piece of string isn't it?

There are various things you can do to increase/decrease prices, Mole End have a tool and you can also use flat file or hierarchical exports/imports. If you have a manufacturers price list, you could doa price look up via an excel formula too. But if a manufacturer hikes an RRP, you can be assured you need to do something as there is no vehicle for auto pricing.

Thats it... I have done this, but I need (want) a way of updating the RRP price automatically. I can update the selling price automatically but not the RRP..... any ideas?

Updating it from what? You need to explain what you have or want to use, not just what you want. We're all here sitting this guy's a bit bonkers as he wants software to somehow know what the RRP of a product is. An RRP of a product is set by the manufacturer and if they decide to change that, i can't fathom how you want software to know?

Hierarchical imports/exports can update variables, maybe that's what you mean/need?

Do you update prices via flat file or external linking?

                to show:

                RRP £41.64 - you save 25%
YOUR PRICE: £31.14 (Including VAT at 15%)

I have added a new variable RRP as per: http://community.actinic.com/showthread.php?t=45417 to show:

that works great, in order to work out the saving I insert a price for the RRP variable on each product. I update my prices with Mole Ends - Profit, Pricing and Stock Tool. So if a manufacture raise there prices I simply run the Profit, pricing and stock tool and increase prices.

But now I have done this savings % has gone down, is there a easy way of me changing the RRP variable without going into each product and changing it individually

Hierarchical imports/exports will be what you need to use, as they provide the facility to update the contents of variables, in your case the RRP variable.
