Downloaded orders to the wrong site

    Hi,
We have managed to download all our orders from the weekend onto a test site we have been developing in Multisite. Is it possible to move them from that site back over to the main website?

Any attempt to import them will overwrite your current sites entire order history!
The best thing you can do is to manually recreate the orders OFFline, using the customer and order details and then, if you can, edit the actual order numbers to reflect the correct (original) ones, in the database, using Access.

You could try copying the entries over from the tables in Access but this is fraught with danger.

Hi Tracey, thankyou for the advice we spent yesterday adding in the orders and then changed the order numbers in the database. Seemed to work just fine. Would changing the order date and payment date in the 'Order' table have any adverse affect anywhere else?

On the odd occasion I've had to do this, I've changed the order time and date etc and found no problems at all. So long as you proceed with all the caution you've done until now, with loadsa backups, it should be fine.
