Missing fields in Checkout Page 1

I'm trying to activate a couple of standard fields to the invoice form on a working site I have - the 'Invoice Salutation' & 'Invoice Privacy Check Status'.

I've been into Design > Text and have checked the 'Show' box for the two fields and then returned to Checkout Page 1 where I can see two layouts for 'Invoice Salutation' and 'Keep Details Private' listed in the invoice table, yet neither field is appearing in the Page Preview or when I publish the site.

I cannot edit the layouts for these fields (I just get an error noise when I try to edit them as if I either cannot or they don't exist).

I thought this was going to be a simple change... but I'm stumped. Am I being stupid? Is there something else obvious that I've not done?

Often closing down actinic and then reopening it refreshes these fields, they seem to get stuck in a can't show limbo otherwise
