Checkout Problem | Card Payments !?

Hi we are currently unable to receive credit card payments on our site. We are still able to take Paypal payments but on the final screen in which you click to enter you credit card details we are met with the following page.

    A General Script Error Occurred

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Error: The specified shared SSL user ID is invalid or is not registered with this provider.
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Press the Browser back button and try again or contact the site owner

I’ve tried a site refresh and still no change, but the address being referenced in the invalid page is:

    https://secure.actinicsecure.com/cgi-bin/sp000001.pl

So would this indicate a problem at Actinic's end?

Anyone who could shed some light on this matter would be greatly appreciated or a possible fix.

    Cheers FrAz

I would suggest that you post an URL, so that someone can step through your checkout pages

If I understand what you're doing correctly:

In a nutshell: You are no longer allowed to take credit card details on your website and download them into your PC. Read up on pci-dss.

AFAIK the actinic shared SSL service has been discontinued.

You need to set up a proper Payment Service Provider to process your card details. The easiest to use and best integrated with Actinic is Actinic Payments.

The certificate on the actinic secure site is working correctly, and it has been discontinued to new subscriptions only, from what I can see. If it was working ok before then look here - http://community.actinic.com/showthread.php?t=44754

Actinic really should 'end of life' the shared SSL service and move everyone over to AP.

If it's down to not paying the bills as the last occurence was then the best thing is probably to turn off this payment option until you can contact actinic and get it sorted.

And even then, I'd suggest you sign up for AP as you're no longer allowed to take credit card details on your website (without spending thousands of pounds on special hosting and systems certification).

hmmm well i'm looking at an invoice which says we are still covered untill feb 2010 which is when we would probably switch over to AP (most likely actinic's). We've wanted to change for sometime, but we thought seen as it works why change it wait for our renewal date. Well i'm now going to construct an email to Actinic to get their heads in gear and get this problem solved seen as this problem is no doutably causing loss of sales during the christmas season and you can understand my annoyance with Actinic for cutting a service without any prior warning.

Thanks for the advice and i hope we get this problem solved soon.

                    Cheers & merry christmas guys
