We seem to have ground to a standstill or very nearly

Had problems this morning downloading orders which took about 10 mins to download 9 orders, payment side flew through as normal

Checked size of MDB 205,728kb
size of acd 66,758kb

compress failed on timeout, but had been compressed most nights

Changed site name to old

Uploaded last nights snapshot to new site

Compressed actinic

new site MDB 198,765KB
size of ACD 45.524KB

actual site only has 600 products but many attributes (size, Colour) and Normans Dynamic Images on a lot of them

Looks like this site is getting near Actinics limit or at least access limit

Suprised with size of reduction 66meg to 45 but not increased speed

Sites on a high spec HP server and 1 gig switch and cables

Sync also runs perminatly from server

Multi user with 6 users

Cannot affort enterprise at £8000 any other suggestions improve speed

Speed of downloading orders is the most confusing item as would assume just request data from domain server which we know is fast (UKFAST dedicated server) as other sites on the same server download fast as normal

All suggestions welcome

It looks like AVG may have been causing the slowness, anyone else had AVG problems

Try Eset Nod

Hello Chris. We have 917 products and lots of attributes, etc and are multi-site multi-user, but downloads are usually in seconds or max a couple of minutes. We previously had major problems with anti-virus software, and changed to Nod at the recommendation, or rather insistence, of our IT guys and have had no problems since. It seems to be more designed for business use.
