Customers are unable to log in

Our customers are unable to log in - the message they get is

"Unsupported index version for "/kunden/homepages/15/d234679287/htdocs/PET01/petsensedirect/acatalog/oldbuyer.fil". Expected 1. Found 0.
Please wait for your browser to forward you to the next page or click here."

I have tried a website refresh and this is not making any difference. There are not errors coming up when I publish to web so can't understand why this is happening. We are using V9.

Any help or ideas would be appreciated.

You would be surprised we do get a lot of people using commas instead of full stops and leaving spaces that shouldn't be there so I don't think it has anything to do with the incorrect email addresses as this happens on and off all the time and up until last week the log in was working fine. I have checked the accounts in the Actinic database and they seem fine too. Will have to keep trying other things.
