Add to cart from a different site

I have a feeling the answer is no, but it there a way to do the following...

We run several different specialist websites but some products are applicable to more than one site.

If someone is on our dry-eye.co.uk site and wants to buy from our eyecare-cosmetics.co.uk site is there a way to allow them to add the product into the same cart?

    Hope that make sense.

You probably could, but it would need some creative thinking.

This might help to spark some ideas - http://community.actinic.com/showthread.php?t=45497

    Just thinking out loud here.
One way i could think of is to have a separate site that hosts all your products from the other sites (doesn't have to be pretty, just in some order for yourself). This then would be your global cart. Then when someone purchases on the other sites it adds to the cart in the global site.
But then you would have to ensure the global cart had every product you sell, plus updated at the same time when you change a product on the other sites. Plus i'm sure there will be other things i haven't thought off that will cause problems.
Like i said, thinking out loud here.
