    Maximum "usable" memory possible

    Hi

    For performance reasons I am considering building a "powerful" computer for running Actinic on. However I appreciate there is a limit to what can be used.

    1) If we were to run Windows 7 64-bit... what is the maximum memory I could get installed into a desktop PC.

    2) Is there a limit to the memory on the aforementioned "high memory" PC that Actinic would actually use?

    From the web:

    While the maximum RAM limit for 32-bit Windows 7 editions is 4GB, when it comes to the 64-bit editions, the amount of memory that the OS can address depends on which edition you are running.

    Here are the upper RAM limits for the different editions of Windows 7:

    * Starter: 8GB
    * Home Basic: 8GB
    * Home Premium: 16GB
    * Professional: 192GB
    * Enterprise: 192GB
    * Ultimate: 192GB

    As far as Actinic is concerned I don't expect it will use more than +/-2Gb, but would be interested on other peoples comments....

      We are having a few troubles regarding memory usage during upload (due to the size of our store) so I was wondering if I was to "supersize" the PC could Actinic be given a "bigger area" to upload in???? I'm not sure if it would get to 2Gb and then stop no matter how much free memory there was available in the PC?

      Also, is Actinic v9 generally alright with W7 64bit?
