    Offline orders - Actinic crashes

Rather than hijacking cheeky monkey's thread, I'm starting a new one as there are differences.

We have two installations of Actinic v9, one for development and the other for orders. The orders one has an up to date snapshot so the two are in sync with regards to the catalog and design.

The orders version has recently started crashing when attempting to add an offline order. It was intermittent but it now does it every time.

We tried compacting the database as per the advice in cheeky monkey's thread but it made no difference.

I tried doing an offline order on the designer version and all was fine.

Any ideas? We can't switch to taking orders on the other machine because they are on opposite ends of London and manned by different people.

    Thanks,

    Bob

Crashing after using new order tab.

Is the machine in question running Actinic under Vista? I heard from support yesterday that there is possibly a problem on some Vista setups with the User Account Control (UAC) causing random (or not so random) crashes when switching away from the new order tab. We have had this issue, which only appears on our computer that runs on Vista, another running on XP does not replicate the problem. Hope this might help you.

        Resolved

        Thanks for the advice.

Yes, the one that is crashing is running on Vista and the one that isn't is on XP.

However, it's a bit impractical to replace the PC so we tried re-installing Actinic, upgrading to the latest version in the process. I'm pleased to say that all appears to be ok now.
