Problems with software

I am having problems with my software - when I try to either update the site or download orders the timer shows but nothing else, normally you get the message showing what is happening. No error messages come up and it does nothing is there anything I can do please.

This problem might be linked to the problem I am having with the software connecting to my SMTP server see this post - SMTP problems.

On the other problem I have tried three separate hosts and SMTP accounts with three separate hosting companies and I still get the same error. I thought I try to update the site anyway without email which is when this problem arose - so I am unable to get orders and not able to update my site.

Your help would be appreciated.

Presumably with 3 different domains?

i think you need to resolve the SMTP issue and get a clean network settings test before progressing

By the way I have done all four purges and compacted the database so not sure what else to do now?

Email testing

Does it matter if the email is on a different domain, as long as the SMTP settings are correct or does it have to be the same domain

Same domain, why would you want anything other than that anyway, that's a barmy idea. Make sure it matches the email defined in business settings also.

Testing

The reason I asked was to see if it worked with other SMTP accounts - but you have answered my question. so it looks like it is down to UK2, thank you
