    error message re. 'l' database?

Hello - be gentle with me, this is my first post ever asking for help!

I have a V9 site (www.cheeksandcherries.co.uk) which was working fine until I migrated everything from the original laptop I was using to a new desktop computer.

We accidentally downloaded orders onto the laptop after having migrated all the settings, and when we went to download orders on the new desktop, one of these orders came through again corrupted.

We got error messages about this order whenever we downloaded orders, until we deleted it. The error message kept mentioning an 'l' database.

Subsequently, whilst trying to upload the site, we get a similar error message towards the end of the upload process... at the 'merging incremental updates' stage.

It says 'Cannot open database 'l'. It may not be a database that your application recognises, or the file may be corrupt'

If anyone has any idea what might be going on here, or what to do about it, I'd be grateful. I don't have any particularly recent snapshots, although I have been copying my Site 1 folder regularly and keeping the copies in a separate folder of back ups.

    Thanking you all kindly

    Try compacting your database.

    Houskeeping > Compact databases

This will usually fix most datatbase errors.

Thanks Mike, unfortunately, every time I try to compact databases, I get an error msg saying 'Drivers Config DSN, Config driver or Config Translator failed' ?

I was running Actinic v9.0.4 on Parallels for Mac/Windows.

Since my original message, I have tried installing VMWare Fusion, and clean installing Windows on it again, along with the upgrade to Actinic V9.0.5.

I then imported a snapshot, and have tried to compact database again - twice.

The first time I got an error saying: "The microsoft Jet database engine cannot find the input table or query 'Set Up Info. Make sure that it exists and that its name is spelled correctly"

This was followed by "!" and "X", then 'Actinic has had to close etc.."

I re-booted, and tried again. The second time I got the same error msg as before when using Parallels with v904 - "Config Driver DSN etc"

Any help extremely gratefully received... at wits end
      Thank you
