If I wanted to also have a "List products by supplier", would the simpliest way be to have a section for each supplier and then use duplicates to populate the main sections of the site?

Depends if you would need to subsection off within the main sections, if not, you could just do it via variables, where you set the brand against the product and run custom lists reading that variable. Will depend on number of products too, don't want it grinding to a halt when processing. -
Something similar is to use the custom variable on the search results- http://www.barrelsandbottles.co.uk/a...bal-white.html
click on the "search tags" and it brings us the search list for those variables. Quick and effective but does not bring up a list like a section would though.
