Product reference/bar code for option

Does anyone know if a product option can have it's own unique code?

eg Dickinson novel available in soft back and hardback

I'd like the soft back and hard back to somehow have a unique identifier

Search the forum on 'hidden product' or look in the inbuilt help. You need to create a product for each version, and then associate them via permutations. Have a look at the options tab when you have a product selected, it will set them all up for you.

Been struggling with this but think I got it now.

LOL i save you hours and now you want to save even more hours? greeeeeeeeeeeeeeedy.

The good news is yes, the bad news is it will blow your mind when you first look.

Add 2 products as you want them yourself, then do an export from the file menu, then open up that file and you are looking at a hierarchical export file that you can compile. Study to see how things are done. Get used to that and Bob's your mother's brother.

LOL i did warn you . You need to study and practice with it, but you don't strike me as someone who likes to RTFM, so perhaps leaving it to one side is a good idea. It's really powerful once you get it, takes a good solid hour or so to get to that stage though.
