Remove best sellers/New products

I wish to hide the best sellers and new products link on the sections menu bar.

Is there a nice easy tick box somewhere to do this or should I be editing layouts?

Changes for many things are in settings > site options > layout, have a good look through all of the options to get familiar with them.
