Duplicate Products

Wonder if this has been addressed yet, I have read some posts on this, but cannot find on here anything to say do this???

I have been given a site to tidy up, now this site has a lot of products, and the problem is there are lots of duplicate products. Now is there a way to find out where the duplicates are located within the structure from the original. Its taking me ages to find the duplicate product so I can remove them.

I know you can purge and that will get rid of all the deletes, but I dont want to do that, I just need to go through certain products and remove etc..

Is this possible? Just need to locate where the duplicates are?

Not easily, I think there is a Wish List for this though.

You could track them down using Access:

You could simply select Edit - Find and type in the product short description, this will find the original product and the duplicates.

Thanks for the info. Hope this is something that is improved in future versions. The edit and find is the best option, just makes it easier to locate. Many thanks
