Column count?

Hi.
In V9.04 Im trying to put a fragment containing information across the width of the section page which has 2 columns of products underneath the fragment, at least this is the plan.

I've searched the forums and been advise to go to:
design, options and tick a box to disable parent settings but I cant find that.

On the home page, column count for brochure fragments is set to 1.
In the section page column count for section lists is 2 and so is product list but the fragment still shares the top row with the first of the products.

Advice please or point me in the right direction if you can.

Fragments on Section (Product) pages are displayed in sequence with the products (just like they appear on the Content Tree). They display using the Column Count For Products which you require to be 2.

You'll need to find another way of doing it. There have been many prior posts on this. A bit of searching should find them.

Just to explain why this is.
Your "home page" and "section page" are 2 entirely different pages and, because you have a different setting on the section pages, it overrides the home page settings.
And, as Norman says, a fragment is treated in the same way as products and so obeys the same column count rules.

There are methods of doing what you want but it depends how 'dirty' you want to get with the Design library, tbh.
If you're not comfortable in there, your options will be limited.
