    Google Analytics

Hi having issues getting Google Analytics set-up for my site.

In marketing clicked on the Google Analytics button and entered my GA account details.
Within Google Analytics profile added website address and clicked the Ecommerce site.

Uploaded the site with new settings.

Actinic is displaying an error "Tracking not set-up", now Google has code needs to be added to home page of site. I assume no code needs to be pasted on my site as I've clicked the GA setting in marketing.

    (Version 9.0.5)

    Has anyone got any ideas

    thanks

It sounds like you need to let Google verify the site. You should have an option to either add some GA code to your homepage or to upload a small file to the root of the site using an FTP client. This is nothing to do with the tracking as such that is set up in Actinic.

Thanks, I've given it 24 hours to see if Google verifies the site. No Luck. If checked the usual places, I can't see any options within Actinic to add a GA file to my home page.
Looked through the home page code and variables, and would seem that GA has been added to Actinic (assume by clicking Add to GA, within marketing).

Not sure what the next step would be
      Any other thoughts

Verifying your site ia a separate excercise to setting up in Actinic.
The GA website gives details of how to upload a file to your domain for it to and read to verify that you have authorised access to the site. You will need to manually add a file to the root of your domain as explained on the GA site

If you do not add the file (or the additional info that GA mentions, over and above the tracking code that Actinic will automatically add) then GA will not verify the site.

          Thanks for the continued advice,

So it would appear my Interpretations were Incorrect. I (wrongly) assumed that by clicking the Actinic GA box, this superseded adding the code highlighted on the GA website.

          Last question I promise

I know how to find the code view, however the code within this window makes no sense. Can you advice on where in the code view page I need to add the code, I have absolutely no idea about HTML structure.

          Thanks in advance

I would recommend that you rather choose the other option of uploading a file to the website. Google explains how to do this and what the content of the file needs to be. If you rather do this then you don't need to touch the code in Actinic.
