    Layout destroyed HELP!

    Hi,

My website http://www.campbelluk.co.uk has lost its layout, logo and font settings all of a sudden it would seem, i have no idea what happened, i thought i only changed the FTP details but this happened.

We only have the client version of actinic as we didnt design it we only manage it.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Do you have a previus snapshot, if so just import that and all will be back to normal.

We don't have a snapshot, we didn't know you were supposed to make them. Any other ideas on what happened?

does it preview ok in Actinic?

have you tried fully refreshing the website? (Web > Refresh Website)

btw, snapshotting aka backing up. You need to read up on it!

No, it looks the same in actinic and we tried refreshing.

Yeah, we were just backing up the actinic folder but that obviously doesnt do the trick as the problem was still there when we replaced it with the backup.

well, backing up the actinic folder is better than nothing but it only backs up the content, not the design itself.

Where did you change FTP details? In Actinic? As in, you've moved server/host?
Has it been like this since changing server/host?

Presumably the network settings pass a test? (Web> Network Setup>Test)

Your CSS stylesheet is missing, which is causing the problem, and this should be uploaded automatically within Actinic..although, perhaps it isn't in the Client version??

Maybe the stylesheet only uploads from non-client versions?? Can anyone who knows about Client comment on this?

If that's the case, your designed would have to upload to the new settings but it seems unlikely.

We canged the password of the FTP and deleted everything as it got infected with malware somehow. I canged the FTP password setting in actinic by going Web > Network Setup. The test worked fine.

I moved the actinic.css into a styles folder i made which helped alot, fonts and alignment seem to be fixed. Logo and the layout are still a bit messy though. I cant find actinic.css anywhere, did a search on the computer and nothing came up. Putting listmenu_fallback.css, listmenu_v.css and theme.css in the styles folder didnt make a difference and they are the only css files there are.

Is there anywhere else actinic.css might be as i deleted everything on the server and didnt backup as it was infected.

Your site looks better but you seem to have TWO actinic.css on it. One (as it should be) in www.campbelluk.co.uk/acatalog/actinic.css.

The other in www.campbelluk.co.uk/styles/actinic.css where it cannot have been uploaded by Actinic and must have been done manually.

The file actinic.css is generated by Actinic from a Library layout called "Actinic Stylesheet". Actinic puts the generated actinic.css into your systems SiteHTML folder and from there it's uploaded to the acatalog folder on your server.

It looks like you've altered your overall layout to look for actinic.css in the styles folder and manually uploaded an actinic.css there. This means that any changes you make to the Actinic Stylesheet will not be used.

Except, of course, this has been done by your designer as you only have the Client version.
Best course would be to go back to your designer and get them to change your store to reference the Actinic CSS 'correctly' as this is how Actinic uploads it automatically and will make future occurances less likely
