    Attribute Choice Change Product Ref?!??

    Hi,

Is it possible to have different product references for different attribute choices for example if I have a ball, and the ball can be either red or blue and the red balls ref is "r" and the blue balls ref is "b" is there a way to have it so that when the customer asks for the color blue the reference becomes "b" when they checkout and we get the order?

Yes, for products with different references look at components/attributes/hidden products. If you look at the inbuilt Help menu > Help topics and search for Component | Permutations and related keywords then "List Topics" there are many guides there.

Thanks for the reply, I had a look inside the help guide but could not find what I am looking for? these are the options I got:

      What is a permutation?

How can I make my options affect price?

How do I display prices next to my options?

How can I make my options affect stock level?

How do I hide my out of stock options?

How do I show the options for this product as a set of add to cart buttons?

How do I charge different prices to different customers?

How do I offer different prices depending on how many products the customer buys?

Is probably the best starting point as it discusses how to link choices with products (i.e. items with product references).

Ok, I have kind of got it working now, ignore the weird layout for it but on this link:

          http://www.trampolines4sale.co.uk/ac...ine_Cover.html

if you select the color and add to cart instead of just adding the one ref to the cart it now adds two products? one which is the normal product and another for the color but only one price and two refrences is there anyway to make it all come under one product in the checkout?

If you're using the "sum of components" method (on the general tab of your main product) which, presumably, you are as you'll be using the total (price) from your associated product, then there is an option to have "No orderline for main product"

This will mean that only the associated product (linked through the permutations) will show in the cart and on the invoice.
