V7 pages still on internet, despite V9 upgrade?

We recently upgraded from V7 to V9 but have noticed that a Google search still finds OLD V7 pages... the entire site has been 'refreshed' several times, but this doesn't appear to have removed the old pages.

Can anybody offer any advice on this?

Wipe the server, then refresh the site, only manual intervention will get rid of them.

Are you saying I should manually FTP to the server and delete everything on there? Just want to be completely sure that that's what you mean before I delete it all and possibly lose some vital files!

Manually delete only the Actinic pages, especially the old V7 ones.
If you can easily identify the old V7 pages (i.e. by comparing modified date on the files) then you could simply delete these files in isolation.
You might not want to delete *everything* as your hosting area might contain several non-actinic files/folders etc that you may wish to keep.
