    Offline Order Number

    Hi All

Is it possible to change the format of the offline order number (we simply need to reduce the number of characters in the order number).

I can see how to change the format of the "online" order numbers (by editing the orderscript perl file) but can't see how to change the "offline" order number.

    Many thanks

    Hi Nick,

I also think there should be some way of altering the Offline Number, but alas, I contacted Actinic Support some time ago, and was told this is not possible.

    Unless anyone knows differently?

        Hi,

I was already aware of that, but, it gives an error dialogue box after trying to shorten the order number :

'The order number prefix must be at least 7 characters long'

I've never found a way round this either.
If you're trying to avoid a long list of zeros, try putting a word at the beginning (to use up some or all of the 7 characters)

It makes for easier to read order numbers that having to count zeros!

            Thanks for the replies.

Unfortunately, the minimum of 7 characters is a pain. Our backend ordering system can't cope with this number of characters...... I need to be able to make the length of the order number one less.

Is there not a hack for the perl scripts at all?

            Thanks
