    Search function not searching

    Hi there

Can someone help me with my search function please.

    the site is http://www.bridesondevonport.co.nz
I have just been told that the search function doesn't work and that it hasn't worked for over 6 months, when I checked for myself I was amazed to find out it doesnt work which I am completely baffled about since I have'nt touch the coding at all, I have tried loading from backups but still no joy.

Since I have over 100 products I think it important that it does work, can anyone give me an insight on how I can fix the problem

    Cheers

If you haven't touched the coding, then someone else has by the looks of it. Looks like somebody has tried to change the text color of the text within the search box to something barely readable on screen. Your best bet is to revert the search area back to factory standard in the design library, select the checkboxes to show you what has been altered to help locate the layout.

An alternate quick check would be to select a different search layout in site options, so another standard option is used instead, you can then upload the site and check to make sure that the problem is what I say it is (hover over the 'go button' and you will see code that should not be there).

      Hi lee

Thanks for your reply, I have done both of what suggested and it still comes up with the same error, any ideas where I might find that coding?

Try Design Library for Standard Quick Search Bar and Search Script URL revert to factory settings.

Works a treat, cheers Lee / Louise, unfortunately I reverted back to a snapshot from a few days ago before I started mucking around with the search and now under each category, the sections have doubled up to fill the page.

You have both top and bottom sub section list layouts set to show something, one of them needs setting to 'no layout', usually the top one. Set it in site options.

What did the above mean then?

One product not found on searching

One of the products in our web site has not been found using the search. All others are working fine.
Any idea about what is going on?
                Thanks

Are we taking guesses at which one it is or you going to help us a little more? Always provide the maximum amount of info when you have a problem, you're likely to get it solved quicker and get more help and besides we only ask for the info anyway before we can help.
