Export snapshot blanked out ???

hi Guys,

I was just about to do a snapshot in V9, but its not letting me do it.

i can see the file/export then the snapshot options, but they are blanked out.. i cant click it

ive been able to before lots of times.

Whats going on ?

Are design changes enabled in business settings?

Search the forum on the error message, see what others have done is probably your best bet. If no results returned for whole message, use key parts of the message instead.

I can only find information on upload snapshot, not exporting.

Why is the box greyed out for a start ???

Starting to get a little concerned now.

Just revert to a previous snapshot, maybe something got messed up by mistake, one of them things unfortunately. Stands a great chance you will never solve it, so just get on with restoring it, saves more time usually IMO.

The problem is, today ive made a ton of changes and went to export a snap shot only to get this issue

This will set me back a whole day of work if i cant solve it. is there some things i could try ?

I doubt there is anything you can do to be honest, put it down to experience and learn to snapshot regularly when you are working is all you can do. It's one of those areas where people insist on learning the hard way unfortunately, no doubt you're prime candidate for a hard drive failure and losing the lot also. Tutorial on my site about snapshots, be a good ten mins of your time, you can copy paste a lot of the info so you won't have lost a days work in reality, it will be much quicker.

Thought i'd read a post on the options greyed out recently, i may be imagining it though, especially if you've done a thorough search as i am sure you have. It could be linked to a registry setting from memory, such a needle in a haystack though, try a site1 copy before redoing it all would be the best bet.

what do you mean do a site1 copy ? then what ?

Ive made a copy of the site1 and placed it on my desktop for now.

I did find something on the export being greyed out, but was not really helping my situation.

yeah ive read them, there no fix for me. (copy site folder and do what ?)

should the "Snapshot.cpp" file be somewhere as my system cant seem to find it???

No, ive been doing some work on the site today and then ive gone to export the snapshot (to save the file)

But all the snapshot options are greyed out, both export and import.

So ive tried the export snapshot when you close actinic (the option before it closes) it begins the snapshot, but when i press the "next" button to actually do the snapshot, that when i get that error.

If my actinic is corrupt and i need to re-install actnic.

do i just install a new actinic and upload the snapshot. then replace the site1 folder with my backup???

What about the network settings, actinic keys etc ??

I notice nobody has suggested trying the Compact Database. agree a very long shot on this problem, but worth a try, also if you have access try opening the database and trying a repair
