My phone just exploded. A customer runs several Actinic sites in Actinic Business Plus 903 IMMA. One site has customer accounts and logins.
A perpetual problem seen randomly (like today) is that buyers suddenly cannot log in and the site has to be reloaded again. Can't quite put a finger on it, but it's claimed it happens after adding a new customer or uploading new products. Would this be database corruptions, or point to problems with the host? Hosted on a LAMP server, sometimes uploads seem painfully slow but the upload sessions do merge and complete OK.
In case it's a problem with FTP, we have in the past had to change the MTU settings on the local network to make FTP more reliable but right now it's on default (using DrTCP for Windows - 1500 MaxMTU, it can be wound down to say 1200).
We can't upgrade to 9.04+ due to the gotcha of having to re-apply design customisations across multiple Actinic sites, which is not trivial. Besides, I tried it - every web site got smashed up - took ages to restore everything, free of charge of course :-/.
I see elsewhere in the forum reports of needing to upload twice to cure this login problem, but I saw no solution anywhere -- any pointers would be welcome!
thanks
Alan
