    Customer Blocking in Actinic?

    Morning folks,

had a chargeback last week on an order from Lithuania, then this morning another 3 orders off the same 'customer' which i'm obviously not going to commit. Phoned streamline and they weren't much help, been routing through threads and google and can't seem to find if there's any way i can block certain customers from within actinic? We're using v9.05 but am about to move onto 10.01 this week, i could ask support but thought i'd ask here first.

Streamline suggested banning their IP but that's not really a complete solution is it? Don't know how to do that anyway, either that or limit how they can pay from certain countries but either was you're limiting the genuine people then . . . . any suggestions???

you can do this through your host control panel, this is effective if they have static ip's if not then ban the range. In reality this is the best and only real solution avaliable

      Thanks again darren,

i'll have a look at what options there are in plesk later, doesn't really seem to be much in the way of 'real' help around does there but i thought maybe they'd have built something into the software by now so you can 'flag' dodgey repeat customers. . . hhmmm wishful thinking lol

You'd be hard pushed to find that in ANY software, tbh!

The whole 'customer/fraud-checking' process is the responsibility of the vendor aided by the PSP/bank checks (which, for overseas orders, are minimal at best)

There's no magic cure. It's all part of the risks of trading online
