How do you apply a Minimum Order Value for a section of Products?

Hello All,

I am wishing to apply a Minimum Order Value (MOV) to a section of products.

I need to be able to apply a £45.00 MOV less Tax and Shipping. This only needs to apply to One section on the site and not the whole site.

At present I have just have written text on the site enforcing this but customers are still able to order under the value of £45.00

Your help on this issue would be very much appreciated.

I don't think you can do this. The only options I can think of are:

1. If it's critical, consider setting up a separate website for those items.

or

2. Fudge it using weight as a proxy for value:

- Set the non-MOV products to be 0.0kg (or use as default)
- set the MOV products to have a weight of 1Kg per £ (or 0.01kg per p)
- Set the shipping tables to be:

< 1.0 Kg - £4.95 (or whatever)
< 45.0 Kg - £250 (or some prohibitively expensive value)
Over 45Kg - Standard delivery charge for MOV products.

Put a a comment below the delivery option in the checkout explaining the surcharge on orders under £45 for MOV products.

This may mess up your shiping charges depending on what you're trying to do there.

I'd also use the shipping settings to do this, although i think i'd use category based shipping. Put all of these products onto category based shipping and make the shipping charge prohibitive if less than £45 ordered on the category.

The Category shipping option seems to be the best idea to prevent the <MOV being ordered.

We only have Two shipping charges on the site, simple Free Delivery and a £9.99 charge for a product group, so no weight involved so the above suggestions would work.
