Ticker Tape

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone would be kind enough to help. I am looking at putting a kind of ticker tape on our site.

Does anyone know a peice of software I could look at ?

It's called 'marquee'. Put 'html marquee' into a search engine and you'll find the instructions, they are quite easy.

But be aware that it's very 'old-hat' and not the 'done' thing these days!

Is there a way it can connect to another database and randomly pull out different comments do you know ? I looked but it seems to be restricted to one line of text you type in.

Where is the database going to reside? If its on your server, you may need some scripting like PHP to extract the text and format it into HTML. The PHP can also pick out a random entry for you. If there isn't a lot of text, you can include it all in the page HTML and use Javascript to pick a random entry (I do this with the Top Sellers on my home page).
