Phantom item added to Download Order

My office has built a rather large although some what basic website for a client to allow them to sell items over the internet. The site was original built in v8, then moved into v9 and has been up until now running with out any problems.

The client is saying (and we have checked to confirm) that phantom items are being added to orders being placed... not every order, but enough! It is set up so that the buyer and client get an email copy of the order, but somewhere along the lines random items (never the same item) are being added, sometimes as many as 2 or 3 extra items appear when downloading the order in actinic v9?

The only way the client knows what is being ordered in some cases it to compare the price paid and match it to the item(s) on the order.

Has anyone else suffered this, anyone know what is causing it?

This sounds very odd and it's hard to think of how it might be happening.

Actinic creates the order file before handing over to the PSP. At this point the order file is locked and encrypted so it shouldn't be possible to alter or change anything.

The only things I can think to check are:

    1. That you're comparing the correct orders and emails. Check the order numbers match.

    2. That there is an encryption key in housekeeping > Security

    3. That the client is using a PSP and not using the javascript encryption.

    4. That there isn't any old bits of code or products lying around from an earlier version. The most comprehensive way to do this is to clear the webspace and do a full refresh.

    5. That there's a sensible time cut off for session files. It's possible a huge number of these could cause problems.

      Thanks Mike.

We are going to do a complete over haul and remove the whole site and up load it all again in v10 to limit the chances of any further "older files" being left on the site. Then starting a fresh will check to see if the problem continues and go from there.
