Occprotxtemplate keeps being written over

I have a reral problem here, I have version 8 of catalog on windows 7. Every time I close the catalog and reopen this from the desktop it upgrades and writes over the the occprotxtemplate.pl script with testvendor.
can someone help as this is a real problem for us.

Is it a recent addition? Either Protx or V8?

Are you making sure you are following the step-by-step guide accurately and doing everything in the correct order?

Yes I have changed this numerous times, the catalog works fine until you close this down, it may be worth noting that windows 7 is not recognizing actinic as the icon doesn't appear on the desktop, can I run this in XP mode?

We don't have any problems running Actinic under Windows 7.
I wonder if it is perhaps the UAC causing the issue?
Have you tried disabling UAC (which, I presume, is present in Win 7?) and trying the step-by-step (the order of this is CRUCIAL) again?

I will try this, just cant understand why it keeps upgrading everytime this is closed.

Perhaps this is a problem for actinic support? Is their email form working now>

I would sort out why W7 doesnt recognise actinic first. Often it is a case of sorting out the most obvious fault and then see other niggling seemingly unrelated issues dissapear.

Are you setting the updated occprotxtemplate in the right place I think from memory there are two places where this file lives and you are saving it to the wrong location so the old file opens with each new opening of actinic

The problem was UAC, as windows 7 wasn't recognising the program, one I turned this off this was fine.
