    Multiple Sites - Retrieving Orders?

    Hi everyone,

Apologies if this is a silly question but I can't for the life of me figure out if there's an easy way to do this.

We have Business Plus 9.0.5, with Actinic Link for Sage 50 Accounts. We have always had just a single site to administer. We're about to launch a second site, and eventually several more. During testing we've hit a logistical problem with regards to downloading orders from multiple sites.

To import orders to Sage we currently have to click "Retrieve Orders", select the new orders, right-click and "ReExport to Files", which is a simple and quick process for a single site.

The problem I foresee is to download orders for the second site, the user has to manually load up the other site (File>Sites>select>Activate), and repeat the process. When this has to be done 5 or 6 times throughout the day to check for new orders, and then in the future on several different sites, the task becomes a nuisance at best, and a logistical nightmare at worst.

Is there any way for us to have a true 'multiple site' order retrieval process with Business Plus? For example, having to avoid 'activating' each individual site before checking for orders would be ideal, some sort of 'Master Retrieve' button?

    Thanks!

You can automate this process for one or more sites using my One Stop Automation plugin. Once it's configured it will open each Actinic site in turn, download orders and export them to sage. It does this by running automatically and running each of the functions in turn. If any errors occur during this process the program will clear them.

      Jan,
I have very similar problem I have 25 sites with large amount of products and each site take around 10 min to open in Actinc and it super hard to open each site in actinic will "One Stop Automation" download all the orders without me opening Actinc and downloading the orders.

If One Stop Automation does not do this , is there something out there that dose?

Is there a way to download all the orders from the 25 sites in to 1 site? Perhaps by modifying the Perl or ActinicCatalog database?

This might be a job for Norm….

Any help would save me alot of wasted time

        [edited - incorrect information]

so I ask again, is there a way to download all the orders from the 25 sites in to 1 site? Perhaps by modifying the Perl or ActinicCatalog database?

        Thanks in advance

P.S. Wow I think I stump the Actinic community nobody seems to know the answer

""One Stop Automation"" add-on is dose not work for me, since you have to open actinic and download the order first before you import the orders to "One Stop Automation".
Are you sure about that? It's not what Jan says:

            Yes, 100%
You must download each site manually, only then "One Stop Automation" will see the orders and download them.

As I said I have talk to them and that is what they told me...

You have to open actinic download orders manually and only then the "One Stop Automation" will see the orders and download them.

I have even tried the trial download and that is the way it works.

All the tools that Mole Ends makes for Actinic are basic extractors. it can only Extracts the data from ActinicCatalog database that is there already. There tools can not download orders that are not in the ActinicCatalog database.

Maybe one of the Moderators can shade some light on how to download orders for multiple sites from a central software.

Jan's tools can certainly automatically download orders from the website so there must be some confusion.

EDIT: Re-reading your initial post I think whjat you are asking is for an automated solution to transfer the orders from multiple sites into SAGE - is that correct?

But all this is beside a point. You mean to tell me there is nobody in this forum that can tell me what file controls the order download and it’s setting…

I still say there's some confusion and unless where talking at crossed purposes I beg to differ.

I have a number of clients that use OSA to automate order downloads as well as upload stock on a scheduled basis. It can also trigger other programs/activities to run after the downloading. The Mole-End website also states the same.

I have no idea however if OSA can download multiple sites on a scheduled basis but I suspect it can, especially following Jan's comments earlier in this post.

I also don't know if it can trigger the transfer to Sage.

There is no separate file as an executable that manages the order downloading - it is all managed by the Catalog.exe with its associated dlls.

                          Ok, here goes.
I shall attempt to clear up some confusion.

Firstly, One Stop Automation CAN retrieve, download and process order from MULTIPLE SITES.
This can be scheduled and can be tailored to include other processes such as exporting to files.

TBH, I think Jack, while very 'confident' in his views, is mistaking One Stop Automation with One Stop Order Processing which is a completely different piece of software.

I'm getting very confused about all of this.

As far as i know 'One Stop Automation' can download orders at time to suit you (as well as other things) using the command lines that are associated with catalog.exe.
(look in the help file, and search command line for more info)

The 'simple extractor' you are talking about sounds like 'One Stop Order Processing', which can work with the 'One Stop Automation' plug in.
