Fatal Errors when creating a snapshot - help, please!

    Hello,

when I try to save a snapshot of my Actinic site I get the following error messages:

    FATAL ERRORS
(File SnapshotWizard.cpp, Line 674) - Archive error 5 - The compression operation failed
Library error - Can not open file C:\Program Files\Actinic v8\Sites\Site1\products\BonaSandingMachinesPics\Bona_Mini_Buffer_S.jpg ! has been caught.
    Errors
(File ExportFiles.cpp, Line 456) - The file C:\Program Files\Actinic v8\Sites\Site1\products\BonaLacquersPics\D500_L.jpg was not found System error 3 - The system cannot find the path specified.

In particular, I'm wondering what the bit 'has been caught' means.

I've tried deleting a problematic .jpg, which removes a fatal error, only for a different fatal error to be produced.

This is the site I'm working on: http://www.flooringsales.co.uk/

Can anybody tell me what I should do?

    Thanks,
    Stuart

Have you tried compacting the database before attempting the snapshot?

      Hi drounding,

thanks for the suggestion. I compacted successfully, but then got the same error message when I attempted to take a snapshot:

      The operation was aborted.

      There is 1 Error
      There is 1 Fatal error

      FATAL ERRORS
(File SnapshotWizard.cpp, Line 674) - Archive error 5 - The compression operation failed
Library error - Can not open file C:\Program Files\Actinic v8\Sites\Site1\products\BonaSandingMachinesPics\Bona_Mini_Buffer_S.jpg ! has been caught.
      Errors
(File ExportFiles.cpp, Line 456) - The file C:\Program Files\Actinic v8\Sites\Site1\products\BonaLacquersPics\D500_L.jpg was not found System error 3 - The system cannot find the path specified.
      ..

Any suggestions would be gratefully received.

      Cheers,
      Stuart

What operating system are you using?

If vista, it may be a permissions issue.

Also check that all the jpg it is having an issue with exist & can be opened by a normal image editor/viewer

The best way is to copy the path of the problem image and paste it into Explorer, ie C:\Program Files\Actinic v8\Sites\Site1\products\BonaSandingMachinesPics\Bona_Mini_Buffer_S.jpg this will ensure the image is exactly where actinic thinks it is.

          good luck,

Make backups of your .MDB files in your sites folder untill you have sorted it out, not as good as a snapshot but you can recover most things using it apart from things like images which it knows where they should be but does not make copies of them

I would just delete the product it's having a problem with and then try again

Have you rebooted your PC? I usually find (not that it happens very often) that a reboot cures "has been caught!"

                  Hi
I don't know if this will help but I get fatal errors when one or more of the following occurs (and I forget when I'm snapshotting )

                  1) We have a multi-user version and the other version is in the site I'm snapshotting
                  and/or
                  2) We use Moleend one stop for order processing. This can't be open in the site youa re snapshotting or the db will be caught.

                  Hope this helps.
