Help Using Marketing Code

I have several offers running offering discounts on certain products based on order quantity. None of them require codes. I want to set up a code based offer that offers a percentage off everything. Can I do this? When I try I don't seem to be able to include the products that are subject to the other offers.

A product can't be a member of more than one product group.

If you're not using stock control, you can copy products so you have 2 of the same thing and then put each one in its own group. but clunky, bit fudgy, poor product maintenance etc etc but it's an ugly way round it if really needed.
