Unwanted Automatic Purge of Content?

One of my clients running Catalog v9.0.5 JHZA is using delete on products that he later may want to undelete. However, he tells me that when he publishes the site, these deleted products disappear from his Catalog, without him going to the Housekeeping | Purge Content facility.

Is there an auto-purge setting somewhere, or does this happen automatically if he were, say, using Refresh Website instead of Publish to Web?

There's nothing automated to do this to my knowledge and it shouldn't happen.

OK, problem solved.

I have now visited the client to find out exactly what he was doing. It turns out that in a move worthy of those help desk jokes, he had been deleting products that he later might want to undelete, then moving to another section and deleting products that he definitely no longer wanted. He would then purge the content, in some way imagining that Actinic would know that it was only the products that he knew that he no longer wanted that would get permanently deleted!

I have now explained to him the error of his ways...
