Customer Accounts Email

Hi there,

When I set up a customer account and send the details email the details come out as :

Your customer account has been created. The details are:

User name: secret
Password: secret

You may start shopping at http://www.bobnbootzmodels.co.uk/acatalog/

Sincerely,
Bob N Bootz Models

but the http://www.bobnbootzmodels.co.uk/acatalog/ link takes you directly to :
Forbidden
You do not have permission to access this document.

To make the link work I think I need to drop the acatalog/ part and I think I've found the settings in the advanced network settings but it won't let me change the URL address or am I in the wrong area totally?

That's correct, it does. Must be a bug, it should be http://www.bobnbootzmodels.co.uk/acatalog/bobnbootz models online shop.html Note, having spaces in your page name is not a good idea.

My answer: Edit the email template and delete the bit that says CatalogUrl.

Insert, instead, the url of where you want the customer to go - this could be either

http://www.mydomain.co.uk (for the home page)

or a specific page, for instance the login page, which uses the cgi-bin - go to the page in your browser, highlight and [copy] the address bar, then paste it into the email.

This will be something like....

http://www.mydomain.co.uk/cgi-bin/ss000001.pl?ACTION=LOGIN

(where 000001 is your Script ID, change as necessary).

In your case today this is http://www.bobnbootzmodels.co.uk/cgi...l?ACTION=LOGIN

In the Design tab there's a drop down for the Page Type - you'll see the email templates in the list.
