Product search retuns duplicate

Search for a product by reference within Actinic and if it has a duplicate this is displayed first - not the master copy. Mightily annoying as you need to click on the go to original link before you can edit the product. Pointless extra work.

Surely the master copy should be returned first? One more for the UX crew at Actinic Towers.

I'd have thought excluding all duplicates completely from the search is a better idea, this can be done in search settings. I see no point of duplicate results of the same product unless i am missing something obvious.

I presume you mean searching in the catalog tree as opposed ot online. I thought (I might be wrong) that it just returns the first found instance - be it a duplicate or otherwise.
Certainly a pain the way it is.

Ah yes my bad, the click to go to the original gives it away. That would certainly be annoying!
