    Search Results 3 Column

    Hi,

is there anyway to have search results displayed 3 in a row? I want it to display like a section would when you have 3 next to each other.

    See this add-on of Norman's here: http://drillpine.biz/actinicstuff/index.html
Look on the page for: Multi Column Search Results

      How good is your CSS?

You could wrap a div around the layout, float it left and specify a width to achieve what you want.

EDIT: For 25 quid, I'd go for the add-on

We use Norman's multi column add on. Easy to install with good results.

Jason, your link is direct to the cgi-bin but unfortunately won't work right when posted on the Community as the BASE HREF for the results returned ends up pointing here instead of to your site. Hence broken images and no CSS.

BTW. My Multi Column Search Results uses table cells as this guarantees a consistent height for rows with varying content. Something that's very hard to do using DIV's.

This is a really good point, only way you will do it with DIVs is to set a height and make sure that height will always cater for what you will display. If you have varying image sizes, definitely go the table route, every cell per row is then intrinsically linked, so looks consistent. You'll end up with stepped displays if you have no consistency to your content (images and titles the main players).
