New section will not retain position

A newly created subsection will not retain its position in the tree after Actinic is restarted eg:

    Section A
    ** Sub Section Duck
    ** Sub Section Geese
    ** Sub Section Pigeons

Create a new sub section (right clicking on Geese) give until Actinic restarted

    Section A
    ** Sub Section Duck
    ** Sub Section Geese
    ** Sub Section Wolves
    ** Sub Section Pigeons

...after the restart the errant sub section shows as

    Section A
    ** Sub Section Duck
    ** Sub Section Wolves
    ** Sub Section Geese
    ** Sub Section Pigeons

... I have compacted (under Actinic and Access), dragged and dropped to the correct place, dragged all the ones beneath to above the wolves section to get the correct order and even recreated the sub section from scratch. All sub sections contain their own mutliple sub sections.

I assume this is a borked database entry at some point. In which case does anyone know where in the database are the controls to indicate the position of the sub sections within each section?

Tracey - was this you? C'mon and fess up it is was.

I obviously tried various keyword searches before posting but nothing found other than how to move sections around using the shift key etc

I had this problem a couple of years ago and it has just cropped up again today for the first time in Version 9 Business Plus. I can't remember how I solved it but it might be worth searching for threads I started.

I solved it in the end by buying the Mole End sorting tool at http://mole-end.biz/acatalog/Catalog_Sorting_Tool.html

The original post I made in 2009 is here. http://community.actinic.com/showthread.php?t=43271

I solved the brute force way in the database. If anyone else needs this open ActinicCatalog.mdb in Access and look in the "Catalog section" table. The sequence is set under the column "Catalogue section sequence".

I sorted the nParentSectionID column first to group that sub-section together and then manually changed the value in "Catalogue section sequence"

Take a copy of the ActinicCatalog.mdb file before editing for a quick roll back.

oops, sorry, didn't see original thread!
I do still check forum most days but this was posted at my 'busy time'
Doesn't affect us any more though, as Darren pointed out!

(but don't y'all think you're rid of me. I'm still very much working with Actinic software)
