How to change Body Page Name

I am trying to change the Body Page name in a v8 site (Upgraded from V7)

The obvious way is to change the Page Name under Online Catalog (i.e top Catalog level) in the Page Settings tab.

But that does not seem to actually do anything and I can not find any other setting to allow/disable etc this feature.

Currently the name as listed in content tree is catalogbody.html but the Base Page Name in Page Settings Tab is index.html - see screen dump asttached

Have you compacted since the upgrade?

Yes - several time - compacted - changed layout and uploaded then changed back again .....
it all looks OK in preview but not on server/live site

For a temp fix I have used .htacess to direct index.html to catalogbody.html - gets round the problem but still can not see how/why this is happening.
