'acatalog' missing from url

When I click on my best sellers or new products the page goes to a 404 because 'catalog' is missing from the url. I have no idea why it's doing this and it wasn't doing it a couple of days ago. I've been on it for a couple of hours now with no joy. I've searched but I can only find info on a similar issue with V7 that doesn't seem to be relevant to my problem. I'm using V8. I've purged and refreshed but it hasn't fixed it. It shows the correct url in network setup i.e. the 'catalog' is there.

They're working for me. Perhaps a browser cache issue at your end. Test with a different browser or clear cookies and see if that helps.

You can't tell me that now!!! I've given up my whole evening trying to sort this out! It has to be something more complicated.
