    discontinued images

    Hi guys
When a product is deleted, or its image changed, does the old or deleted items image get removed from the hosting site automatically at next update?

To conserve space, going in manually to delete unused images would be very time consuming.

    Thanks

No, Actinic leaves the images on the server as far as I know.

I seem to remember previous suggestions have been to delete all the files and then refresh the website, but you would want to do this at a quiet time particualrly if oyu have a large site that takes a long time to refresh the whole site.

I don't think you can rely on actinic to do this, best way IMO is at a quiet time, completely delete the content of acatalog and cgi-bin folder on your server and then do a web > refresh website. That way only files being used get uploaded. You can do a similar thing on your PC by snapshotting a site as only files being used get included in the snapshot.

I beat Lee to a reply at last.

Deleting the folders will also delete any session files and saved baskets.

As I have now reached the 1000 post mark, do I get a badge?
