Need to create text links to multiple product listings on one page

This will probably have been asked before but have searched and not sure where to start as still confused..

I have an A-Z product listing page where I want the user to be able to click on links such as A-C, D-F, G-I etc as there are many products which in turn will each list those products - like a page 1, page 2, page 3 text links or next/previous etc etc

Where do I need to do this? If there is a guide online I will have a look - I have the actinic 7 one but not sure what I should be searching for to start with?
